Well, sneaky Beeb schedule a 35min programme for Saturday evening, ostensibly a retrospective of the 10 Doctors. Should have realised when I saw it in the listings that there really wasn't much reason for that scheduling (it would have worked better after the repeat of The Next Doctor earlier this week). So, dear listener, why is this programme on? Of course, it's elementary dear Watson - they're announcing who's taking on the unenviable task of replacing David Tennant. I'm on tenterhooks...can't wait...I hope, hope, hope (with all digits and extremeties crossed) that they make the 'right' choice. Whether that co-incides with my 'right' choice...well, we'll wait and see.
It says that Moffat and Wenger (the new exec prods, taking over from the excellent combo of RTD & Gardner) have been casting & deciding in the run up to Christmas. I sincerely hope that RTD and Gardner were allowed some input to the discussions, so that we have a seamless transition in 2010. And yes, I know that Moffat could write around any overly severe change of pace/style post-regeneration, but it would be good if the new doctor isn't someone so out of left field that you're sat there at 5.36pm tonight thinking WTF??!? And still thinking WTF?!?! at 7.45pm some Saturday afternoon around Easter in 2010.
Off to re-cross the digits and think good thoughts :-)
